Learn More About "USA Collision Centers" Auto Body Repair Experts:

USA Collision Centers traces its roots back to our founder and CEO Joe Sanfillipo Jr. Joe began working in the automotive field after school during his days at Elder High School in the late 1960’s (’64 – ’68). Joe went to work for Tony Wesselman at Glenway Tire Co. in Price Hill, where he met Marty, Tony’s daughter. After dating through high school, the two married in September 1971. They later became the proud parents of daughter, Maria in 1972, followed by son, Joe III in 1975.

Joe gained vast experience while working at Glenway Tire. He learned both the mechanical and collision repair side of the business. In 1975 Joe had an opportunity to go out on his own and he purchased a small gas station and mechanical repair shop at the corner of Glenway and Woodlawn Avenues, just a mile down the road from where he got his start in the repair business. From the years of 1975 – 1988 Joe grew his business from a two bay, to a four bay, mechanical shop. The gas station part grew as well and in 1985 a carry out was added to the facility.

By 1988 the business had outgrown the location at Glenway and Woodlawn. Joe’s father-in-law, Tony had died in 1986 and his mother-in-law was anxious to sell the Glenway Tire property after a failed attempt at renting the location. Joe and Marty purchased and remodeled the property, and in the spring of 1988 Joe moved his mechanical shop to the newly remodeled location at Glenway and Iliff Avenues. After completing the move the original location at Glenway and Woodlawn, was sold to Collins Transmissions. When the company moved locations it also changed and updated its name from Sanfillipo’s Car Care and Amoco, to Sanfillipo’s Automotive Service. Since the company no longer sold gas and was now handling mechanical and collision repairs, the new name seemed to fit it better.

As the years went by, Sanfillipo’s Automotive became a fixture as a family run business in the Price Hill and Western Hills area, known for quality repairs at a fair price. Joe’s dad, Joe Sr. came to work for him in the late 1970’s helping Joe Jr by running the carry out portion of the business at the old location and then running the office and acting as a service writer at the new location. In 1992 while attending Elder High School, Joe’s son Joe III also joined his father and grandfather working in the business. Joe III began his career with the company like most others just getting started in the business, by cleaning toilets, sweeping floors and taking customers home. As time went on, Joe III was taught the ins and outs of the business and when Joe Sr. Retired in 1995 Joe III took his grandfather’s spot in the office while attending college at the University of Cincinnati where he was to meet his future wife, Annmarie. Joe III would leave the company in 1997 to become a police officer for Delhi Township. When Joe III left for the police department, Joe’s wife Marty took over front office operations.

Business continued to grow, with the collision side of the business really taking off. In 1997 the decision was made to try and grow the already successful collision repair business by joining CARSTAR, a popular collision franchise. The move paid off and in 1999 Joe and Marty opened a second location, this one in the growing community of Harrison Ohio. By 2000 the company was growing by leaps and bounds and Joe III was eager to shed the bullet proof vest and return to the family business. Joe III’s wife, Annmarie, had already been working in the business as office manager at the Price Hill location since graduating from the University of Cincinnati. This position would later be filled by Joe’s daughter, Maria, when Annmarie moved to a new location. After a brief stint at the Price Hill location, Joe III, soon took over as General Manager at the Harrison location.

The Harrison location quickly proved to be a successful addition to the company and it wasn’t long before the Sanfillipo family was looking for another location to expand the business. In 2003 the family bought its third location, this one in Sycamore Township. Although business was slow to start at this location, once word spread about the outstanding quality and customer service, it too, began to take off and become successful.

In 2006 the Sanfillipo family decided to expand again, this time to West Chester. At the same time they decided to expand, they also decided to part ways from their franchisor of almost 10 years and go back out on their own as fully independent collision repair centers. That’s when USA Collision Centers was formed.
